Hirut Abatua Manew?
Hirut Abatua Manew?
In Nazareth (Adama), she falls in love with an older man named Gugsa. The couple marries and gives birth to a daughter named Abeba. However, shortly after, Gugsa is unexpectedly accused of a crime and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Hirut and her daughter, Abeba, move to Addis Ababa and Asmara to try and make a living. But as her daughter Abeba grows up, she faces intense societal criticism, isolation, and insults because she does not have a father around. People constantly mock Hirut by asking, 'Hirut! Who is Abeba's (your daughter's) father?' The film portrays Hirut's struggle as she endures all this social pressure and the stigma of fatherlessness, ultimately elevating herself through education to become a successful woman."
